  I'm Gonna Marry You Tobey Maguire

  Shelby Hinkley: 14 years old. She’s intense—though she would insist enthusiastic is the correct word. She is the proud president of the Tobey Maguire Fan Club. Shelby eats lunch by herself, but she’d tell you that’s by choice. She’s awkward and silly, and somehow endearing—though perhaps only to those of us who grew up to be awkward, silly women ourselves.

  Tobey Maguire:  In the pause between filming Spiderman 1 and 2.  He is moody, newly entitled, and quietly unraveling. Fame has arrived faster than maturity, faster than gratitude. He drinks too much and sulks often.  Now he is chained up in a kid’s basement about to tie the knot?

  Brenda Dee Cankles: Real Estate Agent and Corn Hole Enthusiast.  Silly.  Think Kate Gosselin or Mo Collin’s Stewart’s Mom from Mad TV.  That woman who overshares, and might call everyone “hon”.

  Tobey Maguire Posters: 3 Different Teen Beat posters of Tobey Maguire that come to life and haunt or guide the characters in the show…depending on how you perceive it.  

  Shelby’s Mom: Disconnected mother that we never see.  She is loud, and harsh.  Watches Daytime tv and eats take out but don’t expect her to share it with you.

  Audition Requirements

  Those auditioning should prepare a memorized 60-second comedic monologue from a contemporary playwright. 

  Callbacks will consist of cold readings from the scripts.

  Rehearsal and Performance Dates

  I'm Gonna Marry You Tobey Maguire

  Rehearsals are weekday evenings Feb. 23-April 9, 2026.

  Performances are April 10-12, 17-19, 2026.
