    Jacek, Grace A.

    Grace A. Jacek

    Associate Professor, McAuley School of Nursing, Dr. Jacek is the Chair of Undergraduate and Prelicensure Nursing. She joined the Detroit Mercy faculty full-time in 2016. She is a tenured associate professor that teaches across graduate and undergraduate programs in the College of Health Professions and MSON. She primarily teaches the subjects of pathophysiology and health policy. Dr. Jacek earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the ºÚÁÏÔÚÏß. She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She served one term on the Michigan Board of Nursing as the nurse practitioner representative. She has served on the board of the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners. She is an author. Her clinical background as a nurse practitioner includes hospital-based internal medicine, inpatient and outpatient oncology-hematology specialty practice, and a home-based primary care. Her background as a registered nurse includes practice in acute care settings, such as intensive care, emergency care, and cardiac catheterization lab in level one and community hospital settings. Dr. Jacek is committed to supporting the success of the next generation of registered nurses and advanced practice registered nurses.

    Joiner, Janet M.

    Janet M. Joiner

    Assistant Professor and Chair of the Department of Social Work, teaches Social Welfare and Social Justice, Social Welfare Policy, Human Behavior, and Social Work Ethics and Digital Advocacy, and Self-Care and Spirituality. Joiner incorporates interactive gamification technology and video discussion boards in her courses to broaden students’ technology skills while assessing their curricular content knowledge. A licensed social worker with more than 30 years of experience, she was appointed by Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer to serve on the Michigan Board of Social Work for a three-year term effective Jan. 1, 2020. The Board sets policy, protects public health and welfare and oversees cases involving ethical violations and appeals related to licensed social workers. Joiner holds membership with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), and she serves on the Program Administrative Operations Committee for The Children’s Center of Detroit and has served with this organization since 2018. She joined the University in 2016.

    Janic, Ana

    Ana Janic

    Assistant Clinical Professor, teaches Clinical Periodontology and various didactic courses to predoctoral dental students, dental hygiene students.  She also teaches Periodontics courses to residents.  She received a D.D.S. from University of Belgrade in 2003.  She received her M.S. in Periodontics from ºÚÁÏÔÚÏß in 2011.  She is a Diplomate of American Board of Periodontology and has been teaching since 2013.  She joined the university in 2015.

    Jones, Karen

    Karen Jones

    Clinical Assistant Professor, currently serves as a clinic lead for the dental program. She received a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan. She joined the university in 2012.

    Juday, J. Bradley

    J. Bradley Juday

    Clinical Assistant Professor, eared a Doctor of Dental Surgery from ºÚÁÏÔÚÏß School of Dentistry in 1994. He completed a General Practice Residency at Wayne State Medical and the DMC in 1995. He maintains private practice at Detroit Mercy Dental's faculty practice.  He joined the university in 1995.
