Public Health Minor

Description

The Public Health Minor is an 18 credit hour minor offered from the Healthcare Operations Management program within the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. The Public Health minor will prepare students with knowledge and skills related to health promotion and community well-being. A minor in Public Health will augment a student's major and enhance career versatility. Within the Jesuit and Mercy values of the university, students will explore health in the community, population health, and emergency management. Students will learn how a foundational understanding in Public Health can compliment a variety of roles such as Healthcare Administration, Social Work, and numerous allied health professions like Physical and Occupational Therapy. This minor is also designed for non-healthcare majors like Business Administration, Cybersecurity, Communication, and Biomedical Engineering students who will work in healthcare or closely with healthcare professionals and may support public health policy research, data analysis, and write health communication content.
