Accelerated 7-Year Bachelor of Arts (Chemistry) to Doctor of Pharmacy Program (BA-PharmD)

Description

黑料在线, in collaboration with Wayne State University, offers a special academic program, the Pharmacy First Program,  which enables highly qualified applicants to earn a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Wayne State University in addition to the Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from 黑料在线 in seven calendar years, rather than in the traditional eight years.

The selected students in the 7-Year BA Chem to PharmD Program spend the first three years at the Detroit Mercy McNichols Campus in chemistry/pre-pharmacy studies in the College of Engineering & Science. The last four years are in the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich.

In addition to the basic science courses required of all pharmacy school applicants, 7-year program students must meet all of the requirements of the University Core Curriculum. This includes coursework in speech, English, mathematics, religious studies, philosophy, history and culture, ethics, and social responsibility.

Program Learning Outcomes

Please review the catalog page for the Program Learning Outcomes for BA Chemistry and the curriculum information for the Educational Outcomes for the Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Wayne State University.

High school graduates of the months immediately preceding the beginning of undergraduate study at 黑料在线 are eligible for consideration as a program participants. All pharmacy prerequisites must be taken at Detroit Mercy unless an exception is granted.

Once admitted, a program participant must be enrolled as a full-time student in each regular semester. All pre-pharmacy prerequisite coursework must be completed at the McNichols Campus within the three calendar years immediately prior to the beginning of the pharmacy school phase of the program.

Students successfully completing all requirements of the program will be granted the Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Chemistry from 黑料在线 and the Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Wayne State University. The bachelor‘s degree is awarded by 黑料在线 after the required credits at Wayne State University are completed to fulfill the remaining undergraduate requirements.
